Why I Decided To Start Blogging

This article serves as a little self- introduction as well as an explanation as to why I chose to start blogging. I decided to start this blog for two main reasons:  I am switching my main academic discipline and I wanted to introduce myself to the world of theology

I am Stephen Blackman and I am from the lovely island of Barbados. As I stated in the About Me section, I am doing a Bachelor of Arts in French and Spanish. This is primarily due to the fact that I’m naturally gifted in languages and linguistics. I graduated from The Barbados Community College with an Associate Degree in French for Business and Tourism, Spanish with themes and English Literature with a 3.97 GPA . Owing to this, I believed that I should master my linguistic ability and use it to broaden my territorial scope as a missionary. However, there was always a deep nagging love within my heart for theology as well as that call to be a missionary and a priest (which I must add was with me from the age of 12).  For this reason, I also opted to do the Diploma in Theology to familiarise myself formally with the subject area and also to add to the 5 or so years doing freelance theological research. Eventually, I hope to pursue my BA in theology and go straight to a PhD. Reflecting upon this, I realised that I won’t always be in my linguistic world, and I need to initiate myself into this new theological one. And this blog is only one step!
I do hope you all enjoy my coming articles and I hope to entreat you to  many fascinating and thought provoking articles ranging from Christian Ethics to Ecumenism.
God bless you all!
